If I had eight or nine siblings, I would like some aspects of being a big family but not others. I have two brothers and I have always wanted a sister. In a family with nine children, the chances of me having a sister would be quite high. I would like to have a sister or two because I would have someone to talk with about school, friends and boys. I have seen the relationships some sisters have and I would love that relationship. I don't know if I would like getting less attention though because I love being Dad's little girl.

Hey Amy,
ReplyDeleteThis is Jade C from the Summer Learning Journey team 2018. It's great to see that you have completed two activities over the weekend! Overall, how did your week go? Did you do anything fun this week? If you did, I would love to hear all about it in the comment below! :)
You have written a very good paragraph that clearly explains why you would love to live with 9 siblings and why you wouldn't like to live with 9 siblings. It's interesting to read that you want a sister or two, because I only have one sister and I would like to have a brother. I have no idea what it would be like to live with a brother. How is it to live with 2 brothers? Are they nice to you? I don't really talk about boys with my sister, and we usually talk about celebrities and TV shows. It's still too awkward to talk to my sister about boys and relationships.
Thank you Amy for putting your time and effort to make your own pepeha. Pepeha is hard for me as I was born in Korea. I do not have a iwi, waka, and more. It's great to see that you have managed to fill all the blanks in your pepeha! This is an awesome work and I enjoyed reading your blog. I look forward to reading more SLJ activity posts :)
All the best,
Jade C.
I have been babysitting my brother this week so I did not go out but it was a good week I read three and a half books and I made some more jewelry. Have brothers is fun they have lots of energy so playing games with them is great. There is sometimes a bit of sibling rivalry but we are generally nice to one another.
DeleteAta Marie Amy, my name is Amie I am also participating in the SLJ. Its great to see that you have added a full Pepeha. I like how you also added the Waka part in the
ReplyDeletePepeha I found that pretty hard, how did you find out your Waka? It made me think of the time I also had to write a Pepeha. Maybe next time you could try add a photo on your post? Kai Pai!

I found out my wakas simply by asking my family about the boats my ancestors came to New Zealand on
DeleteKia Ora Amy,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Georgia and I am the cluster manager for the Kaikohekohe (Northland) cluster. For the next few days, I'll be commenting on students blogs from Uru Manuka and I am very excited to see the work you all have been doing this summer.
I like your reasoning for wanting a big family. I think having a lot of siblings would be very loud but also allows you to always have people around to play with. I'm currently camping with my parents, two sisters and brother and it's been a lot of fun. Imagining an extra 6 siblings here makes me think it'd be very crowded here!
I read above that you've read three and a half books this week, that's such a great accomplishment! What genre of books do you enjoy? Do you have a favourite author? I'm currently re-reading the Harry Potter series.
I am very impressed with your full pepeha, how did you learn that?
Ka pai, keep up the awesome blog posts and I look forward to reading more soon!

I love reading lots of different forms of fiction. My favourite books are About spys and mystery. I also love reading romance. I have two favourite authors. The first is R.A. Spratt, she wrote the Friday Barnes Series. The second is Ally Carter, she wrote The Gallagher Girls Series
DeleteKia Ora Amy,
ReplyDeleteI’m Dani, a member of the Summer Learning Journey team. I normally comment on blogs in the Kaikohekohe cluster ( Northland) but I have been lucky enough to get the chance to visit some blogs in the Uru Manuka cluster!
I grew up with a younger brother and sister and boy they were hard work. I can’t imagine what it would be like having seven more siblings! But you would always have someone to talk to and hang out with, so that would be pretty cool.
It’s great to read your pepeha and learn more about you and your whanau. Many of the pepehas that I have read have been from students who live in Northland so i recognise most of the places they talk about. I will admit that I had to google Ka tiritiri-o-te-moana. You are pretty lucky to be close to the Southern Alps! Do you go skiing often on the mountains? Or are the ski fields further down?
Keep up the great work!
-Dani
My Uncle owns a bach over in the mountains. I am not sure where the ski fields are, I have never been skiing before.
